Getting Started:

Tentatively named "Buena Vista" for the source of the funds used in the construction, this is a Glen-L design I am currently building in the basement (the frame members at least.

This boat is a 25' long triple cockpit "barrelback" mahogany runabout.  The price of the old ones has skyrocketed in the last 20 years for these original boats, so I am taking a few years  to try my hand at building a modern version.  Although this is quite a large boat for single-handed construction, it should be fun to take my time and enjoy the process for a change. Will be quite a test of patience (both mine in the construction and Kathy's in putting up with my eccentricities and preoccupation)-- but will be a one-of-a-kind at least.

No-one has built this particular Glen-L boat as yet to these plans-- it will be interesting to see exactly what it ends up looking like.  I will be collecting hardware, running gear, windshield pieces, trailer, etc as the year passes as the construction lags until warmer weather in the spring.
