Building the Glen-L Monte Carlo- a 24.5 ' Triple Cockpit Runabout "Unfair" |

Engine Notes:
Engine: The Graymarine Fireball V-8 (188 HP) from the donor Lyman is going to be my engine. It disassembled well, only one water manifold bolt per manifold were frozen- basically because the bolt guide had rusted away, freezing the bolt into place.
Water passages had antifreeze, plugs looked good, oil OK. Turned over OK, water pump, generator, starter, all look rebuildable.
Carbs:
Carbs were too bad for me to try to rebuild, even though I bought kits online. I mailed off the whole carb and manifold assembly to Duby Marine, who sent our a "same-day" exchange of a rebuilt unit.
Transmission: The Velvet Drive appears to be in great shape and has new fluid. At this point, I think I will clean up and use as-is. The cooler is separate from the engine cooling and looks good. I may change my mind, but we'll see. A nice "direct-drive" unit.
